In the charming village of Semblançay, just ten kilometres from Tours, La Mère Hamard welcomes you for a tasteful break in a charming residence combining well-being and authenticity.

Located in the heart of Touraine, not far from Saumur, Le Mans and the Anjou – Touraine Regional Natural Park, La Mère Hamard is one of the most pleasant addresses on the road of the Loire’s castles such as Amboise, Chenonceau or Blois.

Animated by a hospitality sens, Olivier and Alice Loize, sincere and generous, greets you on their 3-stars hotel in Touraine. A family-minded institution, composed of a cut stone house built during the 18th century and an elegant building completely renovated in 2018. ​​​​​​​

Ensuring the smooth running of your stay, the lady of the house Alice Loize accompagnies you throughout your experience in Touraine. Chef Olivier Loize offers creative and delicate cuisine, combining distant spices and local products. Surprising and tasty, Olivier Loize’s menu is a true ode to nature. 

A centenary gastronomic institution in Semblançay

In 1903, Marie Hamard and her husband bought the building to make it an hostel. After the loss of the latter, Madame Hamard receives the help of her sister Esmérine to hold the establishment, which will become over the years a receiving art reference in Touraine. 

Success is indeed not long in coming and the cinema big names (Fernandel, Pierre Fresnay) as crowned heads, (Duke of Windsor, former King of England) come and sit down to taste the house specialities such as the lobster of La Mère Hamard. 

During the second part of 20th century, it expanded, adding rooms in the elegant house facing it, decorated with a pleasant garden.

Today, La Mère Hamard has 11 charming rooms, including 4 suitesand is managed by a couple of passionate : Olivier Loize and his wife Alice, daughter of Jean Bardet, great Touraine Chef.
